Doom Patrol, Vol. 2: The Painting That Ate Paris - Grant Morrison, Richard Case, John Nyberg It must have been exciting to read Morrison's Doom Patrol when it was first coming out, never knowing from one month to the next if you'd be encountering a woman with every super power you've never thought of, or traveling through the psyche of Crazy Jane, or exploring the relationship between Monsieur Mallah and his beloved Brain. Of course, it's still a fascinating read. It's often absurd, but it holds together surprisingly well. Maybe the shortness of the story arcs helps.
