Angel: The End - Peter David And so the IDW era of Angel comics came to a close. And I wasn't really impressed. There are some good moments, but at a certain point it becomes obvious that they knew their days were numbered and just wanted to get this thing to a close. Original to IDW characters and storylines are dispensed with, sometimes way too quickly. Best example? Spike's recent out of character behavior is explained, then dispensed with in just a few panels, without the exact solution ever being shown or described. Sadly unsatisfying. However, the Angel Yearbook has some really nice short stories, and I'd rather read those as a farewell to the Angel property than the actual storyline. This particular trade is quite a brick, so I wouldn't recommend trying to tote it around with you.
